Our Kindergarten program is designed to develop young readers.  We use a phonics based approach.  Phonics empowers students to successfully read new words rather than merely recognizing a list of 200 words.  We do incorporate some sight words (i.e. the, kind ) as they progress in 1st grade.

Kindergarteners learn simple addition and subtraction facts as well as other basic math concepts.  Large and fine motor skills are also developed through selected activities and class work.

Daily Bible lessons teach the children about God's love for them.  They also learn to recite Scripture and learn Bible stories that will help instill good character.

Each week, the class learns a letter of the alphabet.  Each letter is associated with a different animal. (B is for Bear, H is for Horse, etc.)  Not only do our Kindergarteners learn the letter and its sound, but they also are exposed to Science and Social Studies content related to the letter.  Related activities reinforce the concepts learned.

Kindergarteners enjoy daily snack times, play times, show and tell and Wednesday chapel services.  While we love our Kindergarteners, we do keep the class size limited to 15 students.
