Our school primarily utilizes the curriculum of Christian Light Education and Alpha Omega Publications with other academic curriculums including School of Tomorrow, when needed.  Every subject, for every grade level, has been developed and regularly revised to offer students a complete academic package.  Each subject area has its full year of material divided into equal units (usually 10 units per subject).  The basic subject areas are Bible, Language Arts, Math, Science, and Social Studies.  Different grades have other required subjects such as Reading, Spelling, Health, World Geography, etc.  These units define the objectives, provide information and assign certain learning activities pertaining to that particular area of study.  Students are given an assignment of a certain segment of each unit to be accomplished for each day.  Students answer a variety of questions ranging from true and false and multiple choice to fill in the blank and discussion questions.  Students are required to write reports and complete learning projects related to the area of study.  Throughout class time, teachers review and discuss the material with each student.  Students complete a section of a unit and then take a quiz which measures their comprehension and command of the topic.  Students mastering 80% or more of that material move on to the next section of the unit.  (The average unit has 3 sections).  Students scoring below 80% on a quiz will be re-taught the section until they have mastered the material.  After a student completes his full unit (usually about 3 school weeks), he submits his work for evaluation by the staff.  If the work meets our standards, the student is given a final test for that unit the following day.  A final grade for the unit is comprised of a blend of quiz grades (15%), daily class work (15%), projects (10%), and final test score (60%).

Our students are given daily goals and are encouraged to complete them.  Any work left incomplete is assigned as homework.  We employ a school-wide Test Target Date as a checkpoint to ensure students are on task to finish a year's work in a year's time.  Students who are behind schedule attend an extra, before-school class until they can manage their time and effort properly.  Teachers help to motivate and encourage students to be timely in their work.  Nothing breeds success like success.  As students enjoy the sense of satisfaction derived from completing a daily goal, they want to repeat that feeling.  Students also receive a written record of each successful test and a star to help them visualize their progress toward their annual objective.
